Sandman in Process

So lately we have been working on a sandman cover. My piece is something I painted with acrylics then have edited in Photoshop. After editing it I added a few animal silhouettes. Unfortunately it is not letting me save it as a JPG at the moments so I can not attach the image.

Art Star- week 1B

The picture for this today's art star is a piece of graffiti art by Banksey that has "Follow Your Dreams" with a big red "Cancelled"  sign over it.
"Follow Your Dreams" is what adults and people tell young children but now a days the kids themselves tell themselves that they can't, and that society won't allow them to. Young adults are having a harder time finding a place in today's society where they can accomplish their dreams. Whether they put a limit on themselves or have outside forces, like controlling parents, it is hard to do what you want and to express yourself.
For example my best friend and I had a dream when we were little to grow up and start a detective agency (I know it childish.. but we really  like the show Psych). She is working towards meeting the requirements to go to the University of Florida because they have an outstanding Forensic Science department, but her mom wants her to get highlights, wear dresses and become a secretary. She is just one of the people I know that is having to changer her priorities to meet someone else and put her dreams on hold.

Art Start- Week one

" Dreaming after all, is a form of planning."- Gloria Steinem. In class we are starting a new daily project called '"ART START" where we will analyze a quote or picture, which I'm looking forward to. This quote to me puts into words the thought process of an artist. When I begin a project I am always unaware as to what I will do until I have time to reflect on it. Dreaming is a mental state in which our brains replay images we have seen and so for me dreaming can be a way to gather everything that inspires you to form a single idea. This helps me with my ideas.
